The property market is open…
It’s 5am, I’ve been woken up twice in the night (once by the cat wanting to go out randomly, and more imminently our 8 yr old with a nightmare) so am now sat at my laptop as my head was running through everything I need to do, and the feeling of being totally overwhelmed dragged me out of bed a couple of hours before normal (who am I kidding, 3 hours before normal!)
The news broke yesterday that the…
But what does that mean for those just starting our journey? Will there be a mad rush from buyers, in particular the wealthy with large sums of disposable income and an eye on some great returns? Will this leave us behind, desperately peering over their shoulders at where we want to be? Or can we be that plucky little kid that squeezes through to be in the thick of it?
I guess time will tell. We’ve been using lockdown wisely to set our goals, put some robust processes in place and monitor the market like we’ve never quite managed properly before, meaning we’ve already got viewings booked for this week (which feels like a breath of fresh air) and have a couple of offers in the pipeline.
So why overwhelmed? It’s the side of the journey that comes with trying to completely change your path in life whilst maintaining the status quo as best you can (work, family, home). I would never want to cast wide aspersions on the whole property training industry but there are so many out there that peddle dreams of becoming ‘financially free’ which I guess is perfectly reasonable if you’re in your early twenties with a nice little slush fund as granny died recently and ‘freedom’ means needing a few hundred pounds a month.
But when you’re trying to do the same with outgoings already in excess of £3,000 a month, a few dependents looking to you for their future and a life you’ve spent many years building, it’s a slightly different story.
Thankfully, it’s a story I can’t wait to tell as it plays out, warts and all in the hope that I can help just one other person change their life in ways they couldn’t imagine, escaping that drowning feeling of having to attend yet another management meeting.
I have every intention of the next few years being a huge success but should we fail, then let us take the pain for you and I hope you find our journey inspiring… or a dire warning to stay where you are, and batten down the hatches 😉
