Every Monday I write my M.I.T.'s for the week. This gives me the opportunity to reflect on the previous week and plan the week ahead.

Last week started off pretty normal, it had some highs and lows; the car is a write off, luckily I was the only one in it!

I thought the car would have been my lowest point of the week, it wasn't... Sports day at my kiddos school decided to stop individual races and have "house team based events rather than individual races: reducing unnecessary stress". Like me, my kids are competitive, they love the hard work and dedication they put into the things they want to be the best at.

My middle kid is particularly sporty, he loves to race, he loves to win. He knows he won't win every time but he loves the competition. When his team lost every single event they did AND he had to run twice to make up numbers, so was visibly running last (all the other teams had finished and sat down) he started feeling like there was no point in even trying because he's only as good as the slowest person on his team.

Fortunately for him, there was 1 individual running race and he won it! 🎉 But the best thing about all of this is the LEARNING POINT; You are who you surround yourself with. And this is couldn't be any truer. In everyday life, we are who we surround ourselves with.

Surround yourself with people that want to go to the pub everyday of the weekend and discuss Love Island, you'll become that person, surround yourself with people who read and you'll start to read, surround yourself with people who like to keep fit and lo and behold you'll end up doing a 8 mile hike for fun!

It should be ok for my kid to be competitive and for me to be vocal about healthy competition but it's not and no doubt I'll get hated on for this.

But like all the cancelled comedians we saw on Friday night, everyone should have the right to a voice and an opinion. Even if it doesn't align with your views, don't hate on people for that, learn from it. And if you still don't agree, that's ok too. We don't have to agree with someone 💯 of the time on everything, if that were the case I'd be wearing a mini skirt and heels to wash up and clean the house!

If this means nothing to you, don't worry. It's just a fancy way to say we've added some acoustic flooring to reduce the noise from the kitchen to the room below!

It's not sexy or exciting, it's just what we do to make the quality of living better for our tenants 🫶

The rotten joists have been removed and the existing joists have been sprayed ❌🐛The new ones have been put in, treated and reinforced and now the floorboards are back down 💪

It may have put us behind schedule a little, but dealing with the problem now means it's sorted ✅ No point kicking that can down the road

This is what Monday's are all about.

The guys @howdensjoinery make kitchen designing way more fun then it should be. The room was a bathroom and we're re-jigging it to create a kitchen.

With all its funny angles, 3 doors and its weird shape this should have been a right headache, but these guys have helped me come up with a plan and I even got a bottle of wine for my troubles!

Literally feeling like I'm winning on a Monday! 💛 Thanks guys 🍾

The guys @howdensjoinery make kitchen designing way more fun then it should be. The room was a bathroom and we're re-jigging it to create a kitchen.

With all its funny angles, 3 doors and its weird shape this should have been a right headache, but these guys have helped me come up with a plan and I even got a bottle of wine for my troubles!

And the strip out has begun! 🎉

The downstairs shower room has gone! I'm not sure how safe it was as there were plug sockets in the open shower area and plug sockets dotted about everywhere 😱

And whilst stripping out the upstairs bedroom the guys uncovered a beautiful fireplace. I've asked them to see what else they can find 👀hopefully more gorgeous original features 🤞💛

Fri-yay! It's one of my favourite days, because I go round and catch up with the different build teams and see the progression.

We always have a brief on a Monday and discuss the plan of action for the week and then a catch up on Friday. This helps to keep us on track and in the loop.

I love it when the strip out starts. To me it's the start of something new and exciting 💛

During the rip out we discovered that we could increase the size of the room by getting rid of this cladding.

Not only will the room be bigger but it'll also be a lot warmer as we're going to insulate the bejeepers out of it. So we'll have toasty warm tenants 🥵

We've been away from the old social recently with half term and 2 refurbs on the go. Now to throw some more crazy into the mix we collected the keys to this beauty🗝️🔑

She's a bit of a beast with her 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 reception rooms.

It was their first ever competition and it was their first time on a dry slope.

We met some awesome people @chasswig_snowboarder @snowboarder_cameron and were really looked after by everyone at @norfolksnowsportsclub. Looking forward to more events with @snowsportengland

That coupled with more tenant issues than you could shake a stick at, meant that I pretty much spent the day on the phone firefighting, playing agony aunt and sorting a new washing machine. Come school pick up time, I was feeling pretty deflated (see what I did there!) And was ready for a drink and a good old moan.

Instead, we did what we love to do, grabbed our boards and hit the slopes for some family funtimes

Getting out and getting the adrenaline pumping was far better therapy that whining about a rubbish day!
